My mother has been making these cookies for years. They are the absolute best oatmeal cookies in the world!!! Anyone who has ever tasted them agrees. Ingredients:
3 1/2 cups flour |
2 large eggs |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
2 cups sugar |
4 teaspoons cinnamon |
1 cup melted butter |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 cup melted crisco |
2 tablespoons molasses |
1/2 cup milk |
4 cups old-fashioned oatmeal |
1 cup raisins |
1 cup chopped walnuts |
Directions:
1. Mix and set aside: flour, baking soda, cinnamon, salt. 2. In a separate bowl, stir together: eggs, sugar, butter, Crisco, molasses and milk. 3. By hand, stir dry ingredients into wet and add: oatmeal, raisins, and walnuts. 4. Spoon cookie dough by tablespoons onto parchment-lined baking sheets and bake at 350° for 14-16 minutes (7-8 minutes on the bottom rack of the oven and 7-8 minutes on the top). |
