Once, on a 4-H exchange trip, I stayed with a wonderful family in northern Ohio who loved to drink this flavorful tea all summer long. Beth, make sure to thank your mother for me! Use a gallon sized jug to make this tea. The longer it stands before removing the tea bags, the stronger the tea. This recipe calls for saccharin tablets, but I'm sure Splenda works just as well. Ingredients:
1 gallon hot tap water |
12 saccharin tablets |
1/2 cup sugar |
3 regular tea bags |
2 lemon tea bags |
2 orange spice tea bags |
Directions:
1. Pour hot water into a gallon sized jug. A used milk jug works just fine. Add sugar and saccharin tablets to the hot water, shake to dissolve. 2. Add tea bags, leaving floats outside the jug. Let stand for at least half an hour, then remove bags and enjoy. |
