This recipe is a simple but good granola recipe. I searched and tried many recipes. Try it my way first, then mix and match different nuts and fruit to your taste. Ingredients:
4 cups old fashioned oatmeal |
1 cup walnuts |
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar |
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/3 cup oil (light tasting) |
1/4 cup honey |
2 tablespoons white sugar |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
4 teaspoons vanilla extract |
1 cup raisins |
Directions:
1. In a large bowl mix together oatmeal, nuts, brown sugar and cinnamon. 2. In a saucepan, mix together oil, honey, white sugar, and salt. Cook over medium heat until a simmer. Remove from heat and stir in Vanilla. 3. pour honey mixture over oatmeal mixture and stir until well combined. 4. Spread in a cookie sheet that has an edge and cook in a preheated 300 degree oven for 30 minute, stirring every ten minutes. 5. Immediately upon leaving the oven, pour back into the large bowl and stir in dried fruit. 6. Let cool and enjoy on yogurt, by the handful, or pour some milk over a bowlful in the morning. |
