These cookies will bring back memories. As soon as you bite into them, they melt in your mouth! Great for a holiday gift. They are one of my husbands' favorites! Ingredients:
2 sticks (1 cup) cold unsalted butter, cut in small pieces |
1/4 cup powdered sugar & 1 cup for rolling cookies in |
2 tsp vanilla extract |
2 cups all-purpose flour |
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F 2. In a large mixing bowl add butter, 1/4 powdered sugar and the vanilla. Process, scraping bowl often to blend. 3. Add flour, about 1/2 cup at a time; process until combined. 4. With lightly floured hands, roll dough into 1 inch balls. 5. Place 1 inch apart on un-greased cookie sheets. 6. Bake about 15 minutes until bottoms are light brown. 7. Cool on wax paper on a wire rack for 15 minutes. 8. Gently (cookies are fragile) roll warm cookies in 1 cup powdered sugar. 9. Cool, then roll in sugar again. 10. Refrigerate tightly covered with wax paper between layers up to 1 week. |
