This was given to me in the early 70's, back when they called it icing .. and has been my favorite since. It is used on Red Velvet cake but.. it is AWESOME on a plain ole chocolate cake.. Not as sweet as butter cream frostings. Ingredients:
1 cup milk |
1/4 cup flour |
1/2 cup crisco |
1 stick butter |
1 cup sugar |
dash of salt |
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract |
Directions:
1. Cook milk and flour over low heat to pudding stage.. Set aside to cool. 2. Cream rest of the ingredents and add to pudding mixture. 3. Beat until smooth. Do not over beat or it will seperate. 4. Spread on cake... 5. I think you will enjoy. |
