Tired of the same ole french toast?Give this recipe a shot and I'll guarantee you'll never eat French Toast the same way again!
Ingredients:
3 eggs
1/4 cup of 10% cream (table cream)
1 tablespoon of butter (add more, if needed)
4 slices of fresh bread
4 slices of mozzarella cheese (not too thin)
2 slices of canadian ham (1/8 thick)
Directions:
1. Beat the eggs and cream in a shallow, medium sized bowl until combined
2. Fry the ham until lightly cooked and remove from heat for later use
3. Melt the butter in a shallow frying pan or skillet on medium heat
4. Dip both sides of the bread with the egg and cream mixture and add to the frying pan
5. Cook one side until golden brown then flip (3 or 4 minutes)
6. Add a slice of mozzarella cheese then the ham and then another slice of mozzarella and stack the bread like a sandwich
7. Flip the bread one last time so that all four sides of the bread have touched the frying pan and the cheese has melted thoroughly
8. Serve with butter and local pure maple syrup
9. Note: Change this recipe by adding maple bacon and swiss cheese for a more unique flavor.
