Recipe from my old babysitter Pat Reinkensmeyer Ingredients:
2 cups sugar |
1 cup brown sugar |
1 cup light corn syrup |
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional) |
1 cup heavy cream |
1 cup milk |
1 cup butter |
1 1/2 tablespoons vanilla |
Directions:
1. Combine sugars, corn syrup, cream, milk and butter. 2. Cook slowly stirring occassionally to firm ball stage (248). 3. Remove from heat add vanilla (and pecans). 4. Pour into greased 8x8x2. 5. Cool- when cool turn on to cutting board. 6. Cut with heavy knife into small squares. 7. Wrap with waxed paper. |
