Best-Ever Beans and Sausage |

It makes a lot, but I simply place left-overs in the freezer with great results. Depending on your family's preference, use hot or mild pork sausage. Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs pork sausage |
1 medium green pepper, chopped |
1 medium onion, chopped |
1 (31 ounce) can pork and beans |
1 (16 ounce) can kidney beans, rinsed and drained |
1 (15 1/2 ounce) can great northern beans, rinsed and drained |
1 (15 ounce) can pinto beans, rinsed and drained |
1 (15 ounce) can garbanzo beans, rinsed and drained |
1 (15 1/2 ounce) can black-eyed peas, rinsed and drained |
1 1/2 cups ketchup |
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed |
2 teaspoons ground mustard |
Directions:
1. In a skillet over medium heat, brown sausage; drain. 2. Add green pepper and onion; saute until tender. Drain. 3. Add remaining ingredients; mix well. Pour into greased 9x13 baking dish. Cover and bake at 350* for 1 hour. Uncover and bake 20-30 minutes longer or until bubbly. |
