This is an outstanding pie! A great addition to any meal but really great to share at holiday meals! A wonderful treat to eat. Ingredients:
baked pie crust |
1/2 lb. caramels |
1 cup milk |
dash of salt |
1 envelope of gelatin |
1/4 cup water |
1 cup heavy whipping cream-whipped |
1 tsp. vanilla |
1 t. sugar |
1/2 cup chopped pecans |
Directions:
1. In a double boiler melt caramels with milk and salt. 2. Keep stirring caramel mixture until melted. 3. In a bowl: 4. Dissolve gelatin in 1/4 cup water. 5. Stir until dissolved. 6. Add to caramel mixture. 7. Chill until partially set and mixture is like thickened pudding. 8. In mixing bowl: 9. whip cream until thick with sugar and vanilla. 10. Fold whipped cream into caramel/gelatin mixture. 11. Chill for 2 hours. 12. Pour into baked and cooled crust. 13. Sprinkle pecans on top. |
