The most delicious way to eat brussel sprouts :) It works for shredded cabbage too. There are tons of recipes with bacon and sprouts :) Check them all out! YUM! Ingredients:
1 lb brussels sprout |
1 lb bacon |
1/2 lb shallot |
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar |
Directions:
1. Dice the bacon and cook over medium heat. Once browned, set aside. 2. While the bacon cooks, prep the veggies. Wash the brussel sprouts. Cut off the tops and slice them in half. Peel and thickly slice the shallots. 3. Once the bacon is removed from the pan, add the shallots and cook in the grease until they are starting to get translucent. Then add the brussel sprouts. Stir occasionally until the sprouts start to brown and the shallots are caramelized. Cover and let steam. 4. Once the sprouts start to soften, add the bacon back in and sprinkle with the balsamic. Let steam until the sprouts are ready and the bacon warm (another 2-3 minutes) and then serve. |
