This sauce is so delicious. The ingredients make up for what I think is the perfect sauce for Pork Spareribs. Ingredients:
1/4 cup olive oil |
1 large red onion, chopped |
3 garlic cloves, finely chopped |
1 cup tomato puree |
4 tomatoes, peeled and chopped |
1/2 cup orange juice |
5 tablespoons red wine vinegar |
2 tablespoons packed brown sugar |
2 tablespoons spicy brown mustard |
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice |
1 tablespoon molasses |
1 tablespoon maple syrup |
1/2 tablespoon paprika |
1/2 tablespoon pepper |
1/2 tablespoon salt |
1 teaspoon chili powder |
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/8 teaspoon clove |
1/8 teaspoon allspice |
Directions:
1. In a saucepan or large skillet heat oil. 2. Add onion and garlic and sauté 5 minutes or until translucent. 3. Add remaining sauce ingredients. 4. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer uncovered 1 to 2 hours, stirring occasionally. 5. Process in a blender or food processor until smooth. 6. Chill in refrigerator until ready to use or up to 3 weeks. |
