A great accompaniament for any curry. You can really soak up the curry sauce or use it like a wrap with the curry inside Ingredients:
1 cup chick pea (besan) flour |
1 cup atta flour |
1 tspn salt |
1 tblspn dry fenugreek leaves |
1 tblspn turmeric |
1/2 tspn ajwaiin seeds (a small onion seed) |
1/2 tspn chilli powder |
1/2 tspn crushed black pepper |
1 tblspn ghee (soft clarified butter) |
oil to fry |
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients along with water to make a pliable dough 2. Roll into large rounds (bread and butter plate size, say 8 ) and 1cm (1/2 ) thick 3. Cook in a heavy bottomed pan on either side till done 4. Spread a little ghee on them and fry for a few seconds 5. Serve with curries, plain yoghurt or pickled vegetables |
