This is my kids' favourite meal. And the leftovers make a great sandwich the next day! Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef |
3/4 lb ground lean pork |
3/4 lb ground veal |
1 cup dry breadcrumbs |
1 1/4 cups milk |
1 egg, beaten |
1/4 cup minced onion |
1 clove minced garlic |
1 1/4 teaspoons salt |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
1/4 teaspoon celery salt |
1/4 teaspoon dry mustard |
1/4 teaspoon sage |
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce |
bacon |
Directions:
1. Mix all ingredients and form into a long loaf. 2. Lay bacon over meatloaf and along the sides. 3. Place into a 9x13 baking pan and bake at 350 for 1 1/2 hours. 4. I usually add nearly cooked potatoes for the last 20-25 minutes and sometimes I even make a gravy from the pan drippings. 5. Remove from pan and cover with foil for 5 or 10 minutes to let the juices settle. 6. Slice and serve. |
