I got this recipe from Sarah Owen's book The Top 100 juices , published by Lifetime Distributers, Castle Hill, Australia. Sarah Owen says The super-nutrient vitamin C is needed for more than 300 diferent processes in the body, but it is easily wiped out by smoking, pollution and stress. Found in abundance in berries, vitamin C and other antioxidants help to quash the damaging free radicals that are associated with many illnesses. The original recipe calls for natural bio yoghurt to be used, but any yoghurt will do. This makes a large amount of smoothie, and if you're making it just for yourself, I'ld recommend halving it. I hope you enjoy this healthy - but still tasty - smoothie :) Ingredients:
10 strawberries, hulled |
25 raspberries |
25 blueberries |
1 1/4 cups yogurt |
Directions:
1. Mix the berries and yoghurt with a blender until smooth. 2. Drink immediately. 3. Serving suggestion: Freeze once made, and leave overnight. In the morning, place in a food processor until smooth. Add sugar or lemonade if desired. This makes a sorbet-like dessert. |
