From the Kansas City, Kansas Fire Department Cookbook. Submitted by Bernadette Kovac. She says, Don't worry. Spanish isn't as hot as you think it might be. Ingredients:
1 quart tomato, diced |
2 jalapeno peppers, diced |
2 fresh cayenne peppers, crushed |
1/4 onion, diced |
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro |
1 garlic clove, crushed |
1/4 teaspoon crushed oregano flakes |
1/4 teaspoon cumin |
1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt |
1/2 teaspoon black pepper |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon chili powder |
Directions:
1. Place ingredients in a blender or food processor and blend only a few seconds so tomatoes remain chunky and other ingredients blend nicely. |
