Great with Thanksgiving dinner. From The Southern Heritage Celebrations Cookbook. Ingredients:
3 cups orange juice |
3/4 cup lemon juice |
1/2 cup sugar |
6 cinnamon sticks |
1 tablespoon whole cloves |
1 tablespoon ground nutmeg |
3 quarts apple cider |
1/2 cup applejack |
Directions:
1. Combine orange juice, lemon juice, sugar, 6 cinnamon sticks, cloves, and nutmeg in a Dutch oven over medium heat; cook until sugar dissolves and mixture is thoroughly heated. 2. Add cider, stirring well. 3. Add applejack, if desired. 4. Strain mixture, discarding cinnamon sticks and cloves; pour into cups. 5. Serve with cinnamon sticks in each drink, if desired. |
