Berkeley Spiced Cider

Great with Thanksgiving dinner. From The Southern Heritage Celebrations Cookbook.
Ingredients:
3 cups orange juice
3/4 cup lemon juice
1/2 cup sugar
6 cinnamon sticks
1 tablespoon whole cloves
1 tablespoon ground nutmeg
3 quarts apple cider
1/2 cup applejack
Directions:
1. Combine orange juice, lemon juice, sugar, 6 cinnamon sticks, cloves, and nutmeg in a Dutch oven over medium heat; cook until sugar dissolves and mixture is thoroughly heated.
2. Add cider, stirring well.
3. Add applejack, if desired.
4. Strain mixture, discarding cinnamon sticks and cloves; pour into cups.
5. Serve with cinnamon sticks in each drink, if desired.
