This delicious dessert from Belarus is similar to a rice pudding.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups rice
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup honey (or to taste)
water
Directions:
1. Rinse rice in cold water.
2. Bring 3 cups water to a boil; add rice; cover.
3. Boil the rice in a saucepan for 3 minutes over high heat.
4. Reduce heat to medium and continue cooking, another 6 minutes.
5. Add raisins and continue cooking over low heat for 3 minutes.
6. Remove from heat and let stand for15 minutes. DO NOT OPEN LID.
7. Stir rice and sweeten with honey to taste.
8. Serve warm with a little milk or cream.
