This quick and easy stir-fry is from a long-time Chinese restaurant in my hometown. Ingredients:
1 tablespoon cornstarch |
1/4 cup water |
3 tablespoons soy sauce |
1 tablespoon honey |
1 tablespoon tabasco sauce |
1 teaspoon red chili pepper flakes |
1 lb flank steak, sliced |
2 tablespoons vegetable oil |
1 tablespoon sesame oil |
1 onion, sliced |
1 garlic clove, minced |
1 red pepper, sliced |
1/2 green pepper, sliced |
1/2 yellow pepper, sliced |
Directions:
1. In small bowl, combine cornstarch and water. Stir in soy sauce, honey, Tabasco and chili flakes. Heat vegetable oil in non-stick pan and add beef. Cook beef until brown. Remove to bowl. 2. Add sesame oil and onion to pan. Saute and add garlic. Add pepper strips and saute. Add sauce mixture and stir until thickens. Add beef and toss to coat. Serve over rice. |
