this was given to me by a friend at texas monthly Ingredients:
1 pack dry yeast |
1/2 cup warm water |
1/2 cup evaporated milk |
1 egg beatten |
1 teas vanilla |
2 tbl melted butter |
1/4 cup sugar |
1 tea salt |
3 cups all purpose flour |
3-4 cups p-nut oil |
confectioners sugar |
cinnamon sugar |
Directions:
1. in a bowl. of a mixer, dissolve yeast in warm water add milk and next 5 ingredients. then beat in flour 1 cup at a time. on med high speed 2. for 1 minute 3. dough will be sticky, work 1/4 of the dough at a time. put on a floured board. roll out 1/8 inch thick- cut into 2 inch squares. 4. preheat oil to 370 degrees. fry squares in oil, when they rise to the top-flip and cook till brown. drain on paper towels 5. dust with sugar and cinnamon |
