For Zaar World Tour 8, India. This seems to be a popular recipe in india. Some people add chopped tomatoes; some add mint and cashews; mine is just plainer. Ingredients:
2 tablespoons butter |
1 teaspoon cumin seed |
1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds |
1 garlic clove, minced |
1 teaspoon ginger, minced |
1 cup beet, grated |
1 teaspoon sambal powder |
1 teaspoon garam masala powder |
1/4 cup peas |
1 cup rice, cooked |
1 teaspoon salt |
Directions:
1. Melt butter in pan. 2. Add cumin and mustard seeds. 3. Add garlic and ginger; saute. 4. Add beets. 5. Cook on low until beets are tender; you may need to add a little water to prevent sticking. 6. Add sambal powder, and garam masala powder. 7. Stir in peas. 8. Stir in rice; stir until rice is red. |
