Beet Salad With Pickled Herring |

Ingredients:
4 (16-ounce) cans whole beets, drained and chopped |
4 large apples, peeled, cored, and coarsely chopped |
1 medium onion, peeled and coarsely chopped |
2 cups vinegar |
20 whole allspice |
1/4 cup sugar |
pickled herring |
Directions:
1. Combine first 3 ingredients in a large mixing bowl; mix well. Add vinegar, allspice, and sugar; stir well. Cover tightly, and refrigerate overnight. Drain. Serve with pickled herring. |
