Simple and unusual quick bread that goes great with beef stew or warm and buttered. Ingredients:
3 cups self-rising flour |
2 tablespoons brown sugar |
1 teaspoon onion powder |
1 teaspoon dry mustard |
12 oz can beer; room temperature |
1/4 cup butter or margarine; melted |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C ). Lightly grease a 9x5 inch baking pan. 2. In a bowl, mix the self-rising flour, brown sugar and onion powder and mustard. Pour in the beer, and mix just until moistened. 3. Transfer to the prepared baking pan. Top with the melted butter. 4. Bake 45 to 55 minutes in the preheated oven, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack. |
