Ingredients:
1 (16-ounce) package dried pinto beans |
1 (12-ounce) can beer |
2 quarts water |
3 large ripe tomatoes, peeled, seeded, and chopped |
2 large onions, chopped |
2 cloves garlic, crushed |
2 tablespoons chili powder |
2 teaspoons garlic salt |
2 teaspoons cumin seeds |
2 teaspoons salt |
1 teaspoon pepper |
Directions:
1. Place beans in a large saucepan. Cover with water 3 inches above beans; let soak overnight. 2. Drain beans, and return to saucepan; add beer. Slowly bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, 30 minutes or until beer has evaporated. 3. Add remaining ingredients, stirring well. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 1 hour. Uncover and continue to simmer 2 hours or until beans are tender. |
