This is one my buddy and I stumbled upon at one of the parties we threw. Not too many measurements take place when we experiment. Everything is to taste. Ingredients:
12 cleaned raw oysters opened on the half shell |
1 can of your favorite beer |
texas pete to taste |
shredded colby and monterey jack cheese |
pickled sliced jalapeno peppers |
bacon bits |
Directions:
1. Wash oysters to remove all silt and open oysters on the half shell be sure to detach oyster from the shell 2. Place oyster on a broiler pan 3. Put a dash of beer in each oyster 4. Put 2 - 3 dashes of Texas Pete on each oyster 5. Place one jalapeno slice on each oyster 6. Top each oyster with grated cheese 7. Sprinkle each oyster with bacon bits 8. Broil at 400 degrees for about 3 - 5 mins. until cheese has melted 9. Allow to rest for 2 - 3 mins and enjoy 10. (A cold beer is usually a good side for this dish) |
