Made this up tonight with what I had in my pantry, because I didn't want to fight the lines at the grocery store. I wanted to add peas, but didn't have any. My picky, onion hating, boyfriend loved it! Serve with a green salad. Ingredients:
1 (1 1/4 ounce) envelope lipton beefy onion soup mix |
2 tablespoons flour |
2 cups cold water |
2 tablespoons red wine |
2 dashes maggi seasoning |
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper |
1 lb lean ground beef |
1 (6 ounce) can sliced mushrooms |
2 cups egg noodles |
Directions:
1. To make gravy:. 2. Combine Beefy Onion Soup, flour in a medium sauce pan. Set on high heat. Slowly stir in water. Add wine, Maggi Seasoning and pepper. Bring to a boil. Then, reduce heat to medium, stirring frequently. Stir 5-6 minutes or until gravy is thickened. 3. Cook noodles according to package directions and drain well. 4. Brown ground beef in skillet. Drain grease. Add mushrooms and sauté for about 3 minutes. Add gravy to beef, stir, then add noodles and mix well. Cook in skillet about 3-5 minutes. |
