BEEFY GREEN CHILI CASSEROLE This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Howell Estate in Longview Texas in 1994. Ingredients:
1-1/2 pounds ground beef |
1 medium white onion diced |
1/2 pound cheddar cheese grated |
1 pound corn chips broken |
1 can cream of mushroom soup |
7 ounce can diced green chilies |
1 teaspoon diced jalapeno pepper |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper |
1/4 teaspoon garlic salt |
Directions:
1. Thoroughly cook beef, onion, salt, pepper and garlic salt in large skillet then drain well. 2. Add green chilies, soup and jalapeno pepper then mix well. 3. Grease a casserole and put in 1/2 the meat mixture then 1/2 the chips and 1/2 the cheese. 4. Repeat layers then bake at 375 for 15 minutes. |
