This is from the Diana Liu cookbook. This recipe is authentic Chinese. I've made this several times and my family likes it better than the restaurant type. Ingredients:
1/2 lb beef, shredded |
1 tablespoon cornstarch |
1 egg white |
2 tablespoons soy sauce |
1 tablespoon sesame oil |
1 tablespoon sherry wine |
4 tablespoons oil |
2 large green peppers, shredded |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
Directions:
1. Marinate beef in soy sauce, cornstarch, sherry, egg white, and sesame oil for 30 minutes. 2. Heat 2 Tblsp. oil in frying pan until hot. 3. Stir-fry green pepper and salt 2 minutes; remove from pan; set aside. 4. Heat 2 more Tblsp. oil in frying pan until hot. 5. Add meat mixture; stir-fry 3 minutes. 6. Add green pepper and cook 1 minute more. 7. Serve hot. |
