I got this recipe from my mother. It's one of my all time favorite meals, very rich and very delicious. Ingredients:
1 lb beef tenderloin or 1 lb sirloin, cut into 1/2 inch strips |
2 tablespoons butter |
1 1/2 lbs mushrooms, sliced |
1 medium onion, minced |
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can beef broth |
2 tablespoons ketchup |
1 small garlic clove, minced |
1 teaspoon salt |
3 tablespoons flour |
1 cup sour cream |
1 (12 ounce) package cooked egg noodles, extra wide |
Directions:
1. Melt butter over medium heat in medium sized skillet. Add mushrooms and onions until soft, then remove from skillet and set aside in small bowl. 2. Add meat to skillet. Cook until light brown. 3. Reserve 1/3 cup of beef broth. Stir remaining broth into skillet. Add ketchup, garlic, and salt, then stir. 4. Cover skillet and simmer for approximately 15 minutes. 5. Blend reserved broth and flour, then stir into skillet. 6. Add mushrooms and onions. Heat until boiling, stirring constantly. 7. Boil and stir for 1 minute. 8. Reduce heat, stir in sour cream. 9. Heat and serve over cooked egg noodles. |
