Beef Stew with Dumplings
Ingredients:
oil
700 g beef
2 garlic cloves
2 onions
4 carrots
1 turnip
600 ml beef stock
salt
pepper
2 teaspoons mixed herbs
110 g spaetzle dumpling mix
4 tablespoons parsley

Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 160C/Gas 3. Spray a large, non-stick frying pan with oil and place over a medium heat. Add the meat and stir-fry until brown on all sides. Transfer to a medium casserole dish and add the garlic, onions, carrots, turnip, and stock. Season well, then add the dried herbs. Cover tightly and cook in the oven for 2 hours.
2. Meanwhile, put the dumpling mix in a bowl, stir in the parsley, and add 2tbsp of cold water to make a soft dough. Season well and divide the dough into 8 equal pieces. Shape each one into a ball and set aside.
3. Uncover the casserole and place the dumplings on top of the beef mixture. Cover and return to the oven for 20-25 minutes. Sprinkle the casserole with chopped parsley before serving.
