My stew recipe, modified from others used. Hearty, enjoyable beef stew for those cold nights or the need for comfort food. Just add mashed potatoes and some green veggies and you have a wonderful meal. Ingredients:
1 lb stewing beef, cut into 1-inch cubes |
3 carrots, cut into 1-inch pieces |
1 small onion, cut into chunks |
2 stalks celery, sliced |
1 (10 ounce) can beef broth |
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce |
1/2 cup quick-cooking tapioca |
2 whole cloves |
2 bay leaves |
salt and pepper |
Directions:
1. Trim fat from the meat. 2. Put all ingredients in crockpot and mix thoroughly. 3. Cover with lid and cook on low setting for 12 hours. |
