This is the most awesome beef stew. For years, I tried to make beef stew that was thick and yummy, but ended up with beef and veggies in greasy water. Then I found this recipe and have used it for years! I usually serve with cornbread. (Cooking time includes slow cooking in crockpot!) Ingredients:
2 lbs stew meat |
1/4 cup flour |
1 teaspoon paprika |
20 baby carrots |
3 large potatoes, diced |
14 ounces beef broth |
1/2 teaspoon pepper |
1/3 cup soy sauce (or less if too salty) |
1 large onion, chopped |
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce |
Directions:
1. In crock pot, layer potatoes then carrots. 2. Top w/ meat, then soy sauce, paprika, pepper and flour. 3. Spread with chopped onions. 4. Combine beef broth with tomato sauce and pour over. 5. Cook on low 7-8 hour or high 4-5 hours. |
