My son and I were the only ones home and hungry! I had been to an outdoor party that had leftover fire roasted potatoes on the previous weekend and had brought some home. We had burger in the fridge that needed to be used ( soon ) . Creative cooking can bring wonderful results, don't be afraid to experement! This is a variation of the typical Sloppy Joe. Ingredients:
1 1/4 lbs lean ground beef |
1 slice smoked bacon, chopped fine |
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder |
1/8 teaspoon onion powder |
1/8 teaspoon lemon pepper |
1 pinch ground chipotle chile pepper |
1 large mushroom, diced fine |
6 tablespoons lager beer, i used genesee |
1/2 large potato, fire roasted, diced |
2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce |
salt and pepper |
1/2 cup barbecue sauce, your favorite |
1 dash liquid smoke |
Directions:
1. Brown burger over medium high heat ( 5 on an electric stove ). 2. Add mushroom, spices, Worcestershire sauce and chopped bacon. 3. Cook until well browned. 4. Add beer, liquid smoke and barbecue sauce. 5. Add potato. 6. Stir until mixed well and potato starts to brown. 7. Continue to heat until all liquid is gone. 8. Serve on rolls. |
