Haven't tried this yet, but it sounds simple yet delicious. Recipe is from my 100 Best Classic Tapas cookbook. Prep time does not include time for marinating meat.
Ingredients:
3 tablespoons white wine
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
1 orange, juice of
1 lb top sirloin steak, cubed
salt and pepper
1 lb white pearl onion, halved
2 orange bell peppers, seeded and cut into squares
8 ounces cherry tomatoes
Directions:
1. Mix the wine, olive oil, garlic and orange juice in a shallow non-metallic dish. Add the cubes of beef, season to taste with salt and pepper and toss to coat. Cover with plastic wrap and let marinate in the refrigerator for 2-8 hours. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water to prevent burning.
2. Preheat the broiler or grill to high. Drain the beef, reserving the marinade. Thread the beef, onion, bell pepper and tomatoes alternately onto skewers.
3. Cook the skewers under the hot broiler (or on grill), turning and brushing frequently with the marinade for 10 minutes or until cooked through. Transfer to warmed serving plates and serve immediately.
