Simple Southern cooking, at it's finest! Ingredients:
2 pounds lean ground beef |
2 cups cooked rice |
1 can cream of mushroom soup |
1 bay leaf |
1/2 tsp celery seed to taste |
1 tsp salt |
1 tsp black pepper |
1/2 tsp red pepper or to taste |
1 small jar sliced mushrooms |
Directions:
1. In a medium skillet, brown the hamburger meat slowly so it stays tender. When the meat is brown, drain. Add spices into meat, to taste (go easy on the salt) . Combine the mixture with the cooked rice and it is ready to serve. 2. You can add 1/2 cup chopped parsley and/or green scallions. |
