Beef n' Tater Bake

I've seen similar recipes, but they all have cheese in them. Try this as a dairy-free alternative.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs lean ground beef
1 cup soft breadcrumbs
1/3 cup catsup
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup onion
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
4 cups mashed potatoes
additional ketchup, for topping (optional)
Directions:
1. Combine meat, bread crumbs, egg, onion, catsup, salt and pepper.
2. Pour into an 8-inch square baking dish.
3. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
4. Drain excess fat.
5. Pour 3 cups of hot mashed potatoes on top.
6. Drizzle with catsup, if desired.
7. Bake for another 20 minutes.
