Very good and hearty soup. Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs ground beef |
1/2 cup chopped green pepper |
1/2 cup chopped onion |
1 clove garlic, minced |
2 cups water |
1 (16 ounce) can whole tomatoes, undrained,cut in pieces |
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste |
1 tablespoon sugar |
3/4 cup pearl barley |
Directions:
1. In large skillet, brown ground beef, green pepper, onion and garlic, drain. 2. Add remaining ingredients. 3. Bring to boil; reduce heat. 4. Cover and simmer 50-60 minutes or until barley is tender, stirring occasionally. 5. About 6 (1 cup) servings. |
