This is so simple, but the results are a great tasting meal. Ingredients:
2 tablespoons oil |
2 lbs beef stew meat, cut into 1-inch cubes |
2 large onions, sliced |
1 cup beef broth |
2 large potatoes, pared and thinly sliced |
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup |
1 cup sour cream |
1 1/4 cups milk |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese |
1 1/4 cups corn flakes, crushed |
Directions:
1. Heat oil in large skillet. 2. Cook and stir meat and onion until meat is brown and onion is tender; add broth; heat to boiling; reduce heat and cover and simmer 1 hours. 3. Heat oven to 350°F; pour meat mixture into ungreased baking dish (13x9x2-inch). 4. Arrange potato slices on meat; stir together soup, sour cream, milk, salt and pepper; pour over potatoes. 5. Sprinkle with cheese and cereal. 6. Bake uncovered 1 1/2 hrs or until potatoes and meat are tender. |
