Ingredients:
4 cups water
1 (14 ounce) can beef broth
1 (14 ounce) can tomatoes
1 lb lean stewing beef, cubed
1 cup cut green beans
1 cup cubed parsnips or 1 cup potato
1 cup chopped onion
1 cup chopped celery
1 cup chopped carrot
1 garlic clove, minced
1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1 bay leaf
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients, except peas, barley, salt and pepper in slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, adding peas and barley during the last 20 minutes.
2. Discard bay leaf and season to taste with salt and pepper.
