I found this on . I substituted a few things such as egg whites for eggs and whole wheat pasta for regular pasta. The original recipe calls for 3 whole eggs. Ingredients:
3/4 lb lean ground beef |
1 medium onion, chopped |
16 ounces crushed tomatoes |
1 teaspoon dried oregano |
salt |
pepper |
1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded |
1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated and divided |
4 ounces whole wheat fettuccine |
1/2 cup egg white |
2 tablespoons melted butter |
parsley, chopped |
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder |
Directions:
1. Brown beef and onion in a skillet. 2. Stir in tomatoes, oregano, salt and pepper (to taste) and bring to a boil. 3. Simmer uncovered for 20 minutes. (Stir occasionally.). 4. Remove from heat. 5. Add mozzarella and 1/4 cup of parmesan cheese and let stand for 10 minutes. 6. Cook fettucine. 7. Combine 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, egg whites, butter, parsley, and garlic powder. 8. Stir into the hot noodles. 9. Spoon onto tomato mixture. 10. Cover and cook on low for 15-20 minutes. 11. Let stand for 5 minutes. |
