Beef and Cheese Casserole |

I created this recipe, based on a casserole we used to eat when I was growing up. Ingredients:
8 ounces wide egg noodles, prepared according to package |
1 lb ground beef |
2 garlic cloves, minced |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
1 teaspoon sugar |
16 ounces tomato sauce |
8 ounces sour cream |
8 ounces cream cheese, softened |
6 green onions, chopped |
1 cup cheddar cheese, grated |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Brown ground beef and minced garlic. Add tomato sauce, salt, pepper, and sugar to beef mixture and simmer for 10 minutes. 3. In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream and onion, mixing well. 4. In prepared 3 quart casserole dish, layer 1/2 of noodles, 1/2 cheese mixture, then 1/2 meat mixture. Repeat the layers. Spread grated cheese on top of the last layer. 5. Bake for 30 minutes. |
