I love italian spices and I came up with this meatloaf because I wanted to put a twist on Mom's Meatloaf . Garlic, basil, oregano, parmesan cheese and italian style breadcrumbs add a lot of flavor. Ketchup, ranch dressing and egg beaters keep it nice and moist. To make it even more special, you can even add a little pasta sauce on top before you bake it. Ingredients:
1 lb lean ground beef |
1/2 cup egg beaters egg substitute |
2 tablespoons ketchup |
2 tablespoons ranch dressing |
1/4 cup parmesan cheese |
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce |
3/4 cup italian seasoned breadcrumbs |
1 tablespoon garlic |
1/2 teaspoon dried basil |
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano |
1 tablespoon dried parsley |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
1 tablespoon parmesan cheese (for top of loaf) |
1/4 cup pasta sauce (optional) |
Directions:
1. Place ground beef in a large mixing bowl. 2. Add egg beaters, ketchup, ranch dressing, garlic and worcestershire sauce. 3. Add remaining dry ingredients. 4. Mix together with a large spoon or hands. 5. Form into a loaf shape on a greased cookie sheet, or spread into a loaf pan. 6. If desired, spread pasta sauce on top of loaf. 7. Sprinkle with 1 tbsp Parmesan cheese. 8. Bake at 400 degrees for 50-55 minutes. |
