Lower fat cream sauce. Perfect for a gratin. Or creamed chicken or a cream gravy base. Ingredients:
1 cup milk, non-fat |
1 t. butter |
1 t. flour |
1/4 t. salt |
1/4 t. nutmeg |
Directions:
1. Melt butter in small saucepan, add flour cooking over med-low heat. Cook together, until 2. it begins to smell toasted but does not brown. 3. Slowly add milk, while whisking constantly. 4. Incorporate all of the milk and bring to a boil, turn heat down and simmer until sauce thickens and coats the back of a spoon. |
