I have seen many recipes for this - but they never contain dried beef. The version in my family has always included it. This dip is ALWAYS a hit. It is great served in a bread bowl with rye and/or pumpernickle or it is great with veggies as well. Ingredients:
16 ounces sour cream |
16 ounces mayonnaise, preferabbly dukes |
1 (2 1/4 ounce) jar dried beef, chopped finely |
2 tablespoons dried onion flakes |
1 tablespoon dill weed |
1 tablespoon beau monde seasoning, made by spice islands |
Directions:
1. Mix all ingredients together well. 2. Refrigerate at least 2-3 hours, best if left over night. 3. Serve with rye or pumpernickel bread cubes or fresh cut up veggies. |
