Blackeye peas and brown rice, a variation of Hoppin John with dry soup mix Ingredients:
14 oz peas, canned blackeye (drained) |
1 cup brown rice |
3 stalks celery, sliced |
2 1/2 cups broth or water |
4 servings soup mix beefy onion |
Directions:
1. Pre heat oven to 375 degrees 2. measure dry rice into ungreased casserole dish 3. add can of blackeye peas 4. add broth or water 5. add (1) envelope of soup mix 6. stir 7. slice & add celery, stir 8. cover (with foil or lid) bake 1 hour |
