BEANS PEAS AND POTATOES This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the McBride Estate in Grand Prairie, Texas in 1999. Ingredients:
3 cups fresh green beans cut into 2 lengths |
2 cups fresh peas |
6 small new potatoes scrubbed and quartered |
1 small can evaporated milk |
2 tablespoons butter |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper |
Directions:
1. Place green beans in covered pot with 2 water then cook over medium heat for 5 minutes. 2. Add potatoes and cook until potatoes are just done. 3. When vegetables are cooked add milk, butter, salt and pepper then heat thoroughly. |
