You want to be a hit at a party? Try this casserole and they will flip! You made this with what, Dr Pepper pop? Ingredients:
2 lbs kielbasa, cut into 1/4-inch rounds (or your favorite sausage) |
1 3/4 cups dr. pepper cola (divided use) |
4 (15 ounce) cans pinto beans |
1 (15 ounce) bottle ketchup |
1/4 cup red wine vinegar |
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce |
1 dash tabasco sauce |
2 tablespoons soy sauce |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder |
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard |
1/2 medium onion, finely chopped |
1/2 lb mild cheddar cheese, grated |
1/2 cup breadcrumbs |
Directions:
1. Heat skillet over medium heat. Add sausage and 3/4 cup Dr Pepper. Bring to 2. boil. Cover and lower heat. Continue cooking about 30 minutes,. 3. until Dr Pepper becomes syrupy. 4. Preheat oven to 375°F Drain pinto beans; place in large saucepan. Add 1 cup 5. Dr Pepper, 6. ketchup, wine vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco sauce, soy sauce, salt,. 7. pepper, garlic powder, mustard and onion. 8. Bring to simmer, stirring occasionally. Pour into 3-quart buttered baking 9. dish. Stir in sausage mixture; top with cheese and bread crumbs. 10. Bake, covered, for 40 minutes or until cheese is 11. melted and mixture is bubbling. |
