navy beans & hickory smoked bacon in crock pot Ingredients:
1 lb navy beans |
1 lb bacon |
1 carrot |
1 celery stalk |
32 oz vegetable juice |
32 oz chicken stock |
Directions:
1. Rinse and soak beans over night 2. Fry bacon in skillet & drain on paper towels 3. Chop carrot & celery and fry in bacon grease, drain 4. Add all ingredients to crock pot & cook 10-12 hours 5. Chill 8 hours & skim fat 6. Heat & serve or portion & freeze, 8 oz servings |
