Wonderfully seasoned,this is a hearty chowder that you will make again and again. Ingredients:
1/2 c chopped onion |
1 tbs canola oil |
2 garlic cloves,minced |
1 med.tomato,chopped |
2 cans (14-1/2 oz.ea) chicken or vegetable broth |
1-3/4 c water |
1/2 tsp each dried basil,oregan and celery flakes |
1/4 tsp pepper |
3 cans (15-1/2 oz. ea) great northern beans,rinsed and drained |
1 c uncooked elbow macaroni |
1 tbs minced parsley |
Directions:
1. In large saucepan,saute onion in oil until tender;add garlic;cook 1 min longer. Add the tomato;simmer for 5 mins. Add the broth,water and seasonings. Bring to boil;cook for 5 mins. Add beans and macaroni;return to boil. 2. Reduce heat;simmer,uncovered for 15 mins or till macaroni is tender. Sprinkle with parsley. |
