A modern adaptation of the American Indian Bean Bread Ingredients:
1 cup cornmeal |
1/2 cup flour |
2 teaspoons baking powder |
1 tablespoon sugar |
2 cups milk |
1/4 cup shortening, melted |
1 egg, beaten |
2 tablespoons honey |
4 cups brown beans, cooked and drained |
Directions:
1. Mix all but beans thoroughly. 2. Fold in beans. 3. Pour into hot greased pan. 4. Bake at 450 for 30 minutes or until brown. |
