Bb's Peanut Butter Brownies |

These are my dad's (who I nicknamed BB )favorite brownies. I make them for him for his birthday and Christmas. They are easy and very yummy! He's certainly not the only one to inhale them when I make them! Ingredients:
1/4 cup shortening |
2 ounces unsweetened chocolate squares |
1 cup sugar |
1/4 cup peanut butter |
2 eggs |
1/2 teaspoon vanilla |
1/2 cup all-purpose flour |
1/4 teaspoon baking soda |
0.5 (16 ounce) can ready to spread chocolate frosting (about 1 cup) |
2 tablespoons peanut butter |
3 tablespoons peanuts |
Directions:
1. Melt shortening with chocolate; remove from heat.
2. Blend in sugar and 1/4 cup of peanut butter. Add eggs and vanilla; beat smooth.
3. Stir together flour, soda, and 1/4 tsp salt; stir into batter.
4. Spread into a greased 9x9x2-inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes; cool. Mix frosting and 2 tbsp peanut butter; spread on brownies.
5. Top with chopped nuts; cut into bars. Makes 24.
